Water

lose yourself

weightless, falling, floating

your body is no longer yours

held - up, together, suspended, apart

movements assisted, fluid, soft, forceful

a kick, a pull and you're in motion

spin, turn, flip, flow

open eyes and the world's distorted

you're not where you belong

way out of your depth

chest aches, lungs burn, bright panic

a kick, a push

surface breaks

life rushes in, light surrounds

breeze blows, legs work

shoulders above, body below

you're alive.

Your body is no longer yours..

That's exactly how I feel when I'm in the water.

You captured it all perfectly. Just the kinda thing that makes me check my reader :)
