My Place

It's been two weeks since the settlement of my house.

In that time it has been pulled to shreds. The only things left in it are the items that I wanted to keep. The property was a deceased estate, which means ALL the furniture, cutlery & crockery were left in it.

That's a LOT of stuff.

Major thanks have to go out to Mother Dearest, Padre, Big Little Brother & Miss Amanda for helping out as much as they did. I really couldn't have done it on my own. Although - I did manage to do a large chunk of the work by myself. A fact I will more than happily promote considering I'm not the most handy or "hard work" type people... I'm quite proud of my own efforts!

Here is photographic proof

The Cleaning

Putting everything I didn't want into bags... there were about 10 x 72ltr bags

Attempting to pull up the lino

This part was so much fun!

The After

The living room

My room

The Spare room

This is my current storage room for everything I'm keeping or I've taken over in the cleaning process

The Kitchen

I was so scared I was going to have to use a heat gun over each tiny section & spend days pulling up the lino. Mum suggested we go to the hire place & check out their tools. They have a floor stripper, still not easy, but it was all up in a few hours.

Pulling the top unit down

This is important. I decided as soon as I walked in (before I'd bought it) that the top unit would HAVE to go. Now it has, I just need the boys to get the wall bit off the wall.

Now that this massive job is over, I will be getting carpet in the bedrooms, sanding the concrete floors, before sealing & painting them. The kitchen unit that is left will be moved to run alongside the wall. It's such a rewarding effort.

Can't wait to move in! Thanks for listening to me ramble.

Woah, what a big job. manual labour. AHHHHHHH! I slightly mourn the loss of those wardrobes though, they were so big, did you check them for Narnia before you ripped them out?

Very impressive...but I too mourn the loss of those wardrobes....they were massive. Did you donate the things you didn't want to charity or just discard?x
