How do you react to new things? Do you find out more about them before you make a call? Do you try them out? Do you say "oh, ok" & leave it at that?
If you’re happy to give new things a go, does that make you open, or easily influenced?
I find I'm really open to new things. I'm like anyone else, I'll judge on appearance (come on, who are we kidding if we say we don't?). But, my redeeming factor is that when I'm given an opportunity, I'll always try & get to know more about the person, what they like, don't like, favourites & things like that. There are particular things that I will make a point of trying, especially if I've not heard of it before & it intrigues me, the most obvious thing being music.
........... I've started this paragraph about 6 times (give or take a few) & I can't seem to expand on that second sentence.
So answer me this if you wouldn't mind.....
If you’re more than happy to give new things a go, does that make you open, or easily influenced?

Ha! not at all. I see where you're coming from, but I think being 'easily influenced' has negative connotations, but with 'trying new things' it doesn't need to be so. For example, I know someone who frequently changes her identity to mirror the person who is closest to her at the time...not to say she goes crazy body snatcher, but she'll dress how they dress, take on their opinions etc. People who are 'easily influenced' are usually people who don't know who they are yet, so rather than trying new things to enrich themselves they true new things to imitate someone else. Make sense?
ps. I have a new blog ;)
I am generally open to new things, not so sure about new people
Ooh, good question :)
I think it depends on the situation.
I use my intuition and instinct to make my decisions. If it feels scary but good then I know I've done the right thing in trying something new or getting to know someone new.
If it doesn't feel right, then I don't push it.
I like to challenge myself in life though, overall. I try really hard not to let my insecurities hold me back. However, if it's a genuine gut feeling telling me to back off, I will.
I am proud of that characteristic in me.
Open, for sure. But that's probably because I'm like that :-)
Oh and I hope you don't die of boredom first waiting for my Balmain jeans DIY to be finished. It's seriously a possibility.
I think I'm open rather than easily influenced. I try new things and try to know new people but if I feel that they're not right for me I just shrug and let it go.
Easily influenced means (in my book anyways) that you push and push through new things even when they don't click with you. Like a fashion victim gone wrong :P
Oh that's a tough question. I guess if your open your generally okay with doing something for the fun and adventure side of it. Where if your influenced your just doing it because you want to be cool or excepted...
"no not yet, i'm still working on a few minor details......major details..hahaha...I'll post as soon as its up"
"Easily influenced" suggests weakness - copying people without thinking about it. I'm certainly not like that - though I am open minded, meaning that when someone presents me with something new, I will have a long think about it and decide if it is for me. :)
i dont get influenced and sometimes i find that as a problem.
i wanna be influenced by the right people, energy and inspirations...
but sometimes it takes too much from my end to be abale to let it sink into me!
I try to be more open, especially towards new people, because I don't want to miss out on any possible friendship.
Easily influenced? Only by some people.
It most definitely makes you open. Being willing to try new things for yourself, come to understand new things for yourself does not make you easily influenced because you're attempting to gain your own perspective on whatever that something (or someone) is. You're willing to explore new things, and that doesn't make you a push over, it makes you exciting, and cultured, and fun. Keep trying new things. =]
hmmm...i used to be not open to new things at all because i was afraid of the unknown and what if something went wrong, but one day, i just said what am i afraid of? if i try something new and love it, then great, but if i don't, then what's the worst that can happen? i'll just know that i don't like it and never do it again. soo...since that day i've been very open to new things, even though at times i am still a bit hesitant, i try to make myself be open.

Good question. I think I am more open to try things and defensive when it comes to being influenced, does that make any sense??
Regardless keep trying new things and we all need a little influence as I take that as being inspired to try something new. :)
I am a ball of confusion tonight ..lol..
Being easily influenced certainly implies weakness. More so, it connotates not thinking for oneself. But willing to give something a go, and have the opportunity to change one's prejudgment is certainly being open. Because if you weren't open to try it, then that's a whole other story.
I think it's your own curiosity leading you, no matter what. Even if it takes you the wrong way, and you end up being labeled as an "easily influenced" person. Whatever. In the end, it's your story. It's your life. It's your choice. Go out there and revel in the adventure of it all. That's my take on the topic.
