Still Turns, Still Breathes

It all happened so fast, you were strangers
You were friends and then you were lovers
You were doing your best to make it work
Until one day, it no longer did

You felt ripped apart at the seams
Making a mess of everything around you
You went over it a thousand times
But it refused to make itself clear

But when you wake up having forgotten
And have to realise everything is different
And what you had last week,
is no longer yours

And when you wake up as an 'I', not a 'we'
You realise the world still turns
And your body still breathes and
The world hasn't fallen down around your feet

You were ripped apart at the seams
But your friends came running with needles and thread
Talking, comforting and sewing until you're like new
Except now you're a little stronger than before

Last couple of lines are perfection.

You're stronger now. It will all come together. And those friends sew with unbreakable thread.

Chin up lovely. xox

You do get rebuilt stronger before. Hopefully one day you meet the guy who looks at your little rips and tucks and seams and goes "yup, wanna snuggle with that for the rest of my life". And he'll be the one that you feel the same about too.

The analogy sneaks in at the end and it's gorgeous.

So true. I hate the ripped apart feeling. It stays with you for some time. Beautiful writings though.

oh my goodness.
i hope this poem isn't a reflection of something recent. And if it is, keep your head up and keep breathing.
it is a beautiful poem though.

ps. the last blog entry i did is not how i feel, at times yes, but doesn't every girl have insecurities at times.
