5 Things for Friday

I forced myself to find four other things that made me smile today...just because I saw the sweetest thing EVER on my way to work.

1 : A Duck and her ducklings.

It honestly looked like she counted them all, told them to stay in line and follow her. And they did! SO cute to see them all toddling along while cars race past.

2 : Free Lunch

One of our colleagues is leaving us next week, so we put on a lunch. Italian pizza & cannoli. Absolutely delicious! It's a little bit of effort to get it all sorted, but it's worth it.

3 : Unexpected Gifts

The guy I house sat for last week called me into his office (he's also my boss), I was in a bad mood yesterday, so I thought someone might have said something. It was a nice surprise to get a lovely bottle of perfume as a thank you. I didn't expect anything more than a box of choccies!

4: Mango Season!!

I had to pick up the drinks for the lunch today, and the first thing I noticed as I walked into the store... Delightfully Fresh Mango! There is nothing better than slicing up a mango and making an absolute mess of yourself while you attempt to remove as much flesh as possible.

5 : Back Rubs

After Spring in the Valley last weekend, and the heavens decided they were going to cook me, I was stuck at home, trying not to let my chest, back and shoulders get in contact with anything. Then trying not to freeze to death! I had a friend come visit, and after seeing my burns volunteered to rub aloe vera on my back. Remembering that evening made me smile

It was heavenly!

What's made you smile today?

The main thing that made me smile today was being my brother's tooth fairy:
He asked for a mocha flavored Krembo (a candy made with chocolate and whipped cream).
He decided about wanting a Krembo late at night, when the stores were closed, except for a 24/7 kiosk that didn't have Krembos.

So I woke up this morning very early, bought him a whole package of those, and put it near his pillow.

Seeing him smiling when he woke up was worth it all(:

I haven't found any mangoes worth eating yet, but I am on the hunt. I'm tempted to just drive up to Carnarvon in my Dad's combi and fill it to the brim with mangoes, then scoff myself until i never want to eat another one again. Which will never happen..

1)Catching up with old school friends and giggling over really bad photos from when we were younger

2) Friend's with coffee machines who don't mind visits at 9.30am when you are ready to murder your child if you don't have a coffee soon (It was so one of those mornings)

3) Pharmacists who go out of their way to make sure you understand your medications and give you big smiles.

4) The fact that my cat has a boyfriend. (Or maybe my other cat has a girlfriend..) It's big and black and fuzzy and comes into my sun room without feeling the need to pee everywhere - i heart you strange cat, you are so much nicer than stupid, peeing neighbour cat.

5) Free face painting at the library tomorrow. Pics to come!

The picture of the cat walking on the dog made me smile; thank you for that, I needed it.

What a delightful little post! Isn't it just glorious to have little things to smile about. I am smiling today because I got an extra long cuddle when we woke up this morning. The rest of my day is going to be just GREAT. Oh and I found a shop that stocks vegemite here in the Middle East :)
