What is it with the western world and bandwagons?
Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and now this new one that's taken over.
I even have to listen to readings of the novel on the radio on my way to work.

Now seriously
"Edward Cullen is the new Romeo?"
"I'm having trouble dealing with the fact that Edward Cullen is a fictional character"
I'm having trouble keeping my breakfast down!
I'd never heard about this book/movie until a couple of weeks ago, and it was just the Americans I was hearing it from. Now all of a sudden it's interrupting my morning radio too!
This is not on.
I don't understand the hype. A
ccording to my friend Mermaid's Girlfriend, Maria, it is more about the not so subliminal messages that it contains. Check her post {here} to see what she says.
Bit beyond a joke really.
I'm still trying to decide whether or not I want to see it. I'm leaning towards no, but my curiosity has been played with.

I love Twilight! yet, I agree. It is SO OVERRATED right now. I was a fan before anyone knew what it was. It's disappointing to know that some people only read it because it's "popular". UGH! so yes, I am a monster fan. And I'm sure if I wasn't, I'd have a hard time keeping my breakfast down too if I kept seeing how uncontrollably popular and annoying it is right now.
I know what you mean, I wanted to read the twilight series before it was popular, this also happened with stardust, I have a wish list and i put a book on it to get and it might be 4-7 months and it turns into a movie...I don't normally like book-movies because they never live up to my expectations but what can you do.
Yeah it's totally fine! :]
I wonder what the domestic arguments between Stephanie Myers and her husband are like, "you're no edward!"
the bandwagon, ahh it's what makes me ashamed to say i'm from the great west.
<33 lovely
Normally I would have avoided these books (and the movie) just because they were popular. And before anyone says 'They only JUST became popular' I would like to say I worked in a bookshop - trust me, they were ALWAYS popular. The shop I used to work in sold out of the 100+ copies they ordered within a half hour of opening when Breaking Dawn came out.
However, this is a special case. I am simply avoiding these books (and movie) because they are CRAP. They were written to a formula and they were also carefully screened so to not annoy any majority political parties or religious groups. They were made-for-movie books and the author is obviously desperate to become to next J K Rowling. As an offset, I don't like j k Rowling or Harry Potter either. Not because it's popular, just because it's crap.
the horrible thing is, Stephenie Meyer can actually write. I've read her book Host and it's GOOD. It's only these mass produced, quickly churned out and hugely over-publicised twilight books that are horrible.
PS: Liv if you want to borrow Host let me know and i'll bring it up for you. Lisa just bought it back.
PPS: Wow, i'm a little angsty about crap books hey.
hee, you should totally read them, they are hilarious. i have some great articles i can link you to if you're interested. & the funniest thing is, robert pattinson has called her crazy & said that she's in love with her own fictional character.. "they're like stories that weren't meant to be published" (direct quote) hahaha.
i do like kristen stewart though, & my sister and i plan to go see the movie & laugh our asses off.
LOL
I was a fan before they were famous. I am so proud..
Anyway.. I love twilight and Eclipse.. I dont like new moon or Breaking Dawn. I thnk Stephenie Meyer is being a bit childish with the whole not wanting to finish her other book Midnight Sun.
Grr..
However I still love them and re-read them all the time. I've just started the Sookie Stackhouse series by Christine Harris (i think..) THEY are really good.
TWILIGHT
i loved the books except the 4th was such an anti climax.
great blog, and style
:)
Im reading twilight right now, book one. I think its a great book, Ive just been too busy to finish it. I have heard however, that the movie is shithouse, so I dont really plan to go see that.. although I might change my mind because I do have a wild crush on Rob Pattinson. Just read the first book and then decide.
The Twilight series = Mills and Boon for 13 year olds - soppy, badly written crap containing subliminal messages written by a Mormon housewife! However, in saying this, I will be seeing the movie, possibly while donning earplugs, just to perve on Robert Pattinson...*drools*.
