I Just Can't Get You Out of My Head

I heard this song last night. Not what you're thinking though. It was sung in "Burlesque". If this isn't already a style of music, it is now!

Last night was a first for me. I met up with the authors of Lick My Cupcakes & Gin in a Teacup, also known as Em & Tara. Tara brought along her boy too, I would link to him, but he doesn't have a blog. So I can't.

We met at Dome, who make a very mean affogato. Making our way through a seedy back alley, around to a secret entrance, we discovered we weren't the only people who had a craving for Sugar Blue Burlesque.

We got our stamps and found ourselves a spot.

Yup, it's Elvis (just for you Amanda!)
We were attending the Art Show. Their interpretation of the varied types of art, from Da Vinci to Warhol, Picasso to Jackson Pollock. It was a sensory heaven. Bright colours, good music, gorgeous girls, flesh & bones.
Em & Tara dolled themselves up wonderfully!

My favourite was the Andy Warhol, imagine 3 different, multicoloured Marilyn Monroe's all dancing at once. It was so well done!

I think this just might become a regular outing, for only $20, you get a two hour show which is very entertaining. Next month - It's Alice in Wonderland. I can't wait!

After the show, the dancers will mingle with the guests and they're more than happy to chat. Many thanks to Miss Trixi Tassells for staying to talk a while even though she must have been freezing!

Excuse the blurriness! Introducing "The Boy" Tara's other half, often mentioned in her blog.

The perfect way to spend a Sunday evening. Thanks ladies!!

Hehe awesome photos! I have also had that song stuck in my head all day, it cracks me up when I think of how "Frida Kahlo" sung it opera-style! I'm already SO EXCITED for next time!
And you also looked mighty fine Miss Bambola!

Oh you ladies look like dolls! Sounds like a great night, wish we didn't all live so far away - how cool would it be to have a monthly burlesque meet-up?! Alive In Wonderland? I am half tempted to fly to Perth.
